The full project brings on production from James Blake, BADBADNOTGOOD, Mike WiLL Made-It, The Alchemist, Steve Lacy (of The Internet), 9th Wonder, DJ Dahi, Cardo and his frequent collaborator Sounwave. After a number of clues we came to the conclusion this album was going to be Kendrick’s hardest to date. What did surprise some people was his return to making hard-hitting raps after he went left-field for his last release that was more of a jazz fusion and funk / soul album than a rap release. This infatuation is no surprise after his last album To Pimp A Butterfly went platinum and earned him 11 Grammy nominations after venturing away from the sound on his previous releases. When his artwork was revealed it went viral and was turned into countless memes. Then he followed it up with another incredible track “ HUMBLE.” along with a music video that racked up an insane amount of plays and was all people seemed to be talking about for days.
